HOW WE'RE GETTING THERE . . .

The International School for Reconciliation Studies is a 9-12 month course designed for leaders who want to be informed on the current move of the Holy Spirit in reconciliation, and given practical, biblical depth in becoming creative, sensitive and skillful reconcilers in their arena of influence and passion.

As a student in the International School of Reconciliation Studies you will:

1. Discover the Biblical basis of reconciliation being a dynamic force that brings healing to society and culture.
2. Receive wisdom and mentoring from top leaders of reconciliation across the globe.
3. Develop valuable mediation skills that would assist you in resolving conflict in various situations.
4. Learn valuable principles on how past offenses presently hinder God's purposes and discover ways to remove those offenses.
5. Create and deepen friendships with other reconcilers in many nations. Explore the broad range of reconciliation issues portrayed in postmodern
culture through secular films, books and art. -->
6. Engage the power of Honor in reconciliation and peacemaking Explore the work and lives of historic and contemporary Christian reconcilers. -->

You will accomplish this by:

The International School of Reconciliation Studies is comprised of four sections; Three web-based courses, and one optional 7 day residency school.The three core courses will last approximately 3 months each -

* The Biblical Basis of Reconciliation,
* The Person as Reconciler,
* Reconciliation Around the World

After completing these core courses, you will be invited to a 7 day residency to listen, pray, ponder, stretch, question and humble your way deeper into God's heart. At the end of the course work, you will be asked to prayerfully design creative strategies to communicate the message of biblical reconciliation in an area of your own personal influence and passion.

The course work will not be graded, as our objective is to replicate creative, sensitive and skillful, reconcilers throughout the world. Given our international student body, and considering culture, language, and time commitments, grading could not be standardized or meaningful.

WHERE WE'RE GOING . . .

"The greatest wounds in human history, the greatest injustices, have not happened through the acts of some individual perpetrator; rather through the institutions, systems, philosophies, cultures, religions and governments of humankind. Because of this, we, as individuals, are tempted to absolve ourselves of all individual responsibility.

However, unless somebody chooses to identify themselves with corporate entities, such as the nation of our citizenship, or the subculture of our ancestors, the act of honest confession will never take place. This leaves us in a world of injury and offense in which no corporate sin is ever acknowledged, reconciliation never begins and old hatreds deepen." - John Dawson, International President of Youth With a Mission and Founder of the International Reconciliation Coalition

WHAT WE DO . . .

We have designed this course to take approximately 9-12 months to complete. It is best taken with a group of friends so you can meet occassionally over matte/chai/coffee/tea and pray and think outloud together. Of course we welcome you to join us an an individual as well.

We want this journey to not just be informational, but transformational. Ultimately, we believe true transformation comes from Biblical meditation, leading to a rich life of prayer and obedience.

WHO WE ARE . . .

Welcome to the International School of Reconciliation Studies!

We are a diverse international community of storytellers, scholars, and praying servants, who are sharing our stories together... seeking to respond to God's summons to be Biblical reconcilers.

We're pleased to welcome you with us on this journey. C.S. Lewis said; "Is there any pleasure on earth as good as a circle of Christian friends by a fire?" I have sat by the fire and listened to the story tellers and scholars you're about to meet, and I have found my heart enlarged, my mind challenged, and the borders of my being extended.

I trust that will be your experience as well, as you journey with us. ~ Fawn Parish, Lead Facilitator
